The Trunk Control Test (TCT) is used to assess trunk movements in patients that have suffered from a neurological disorder (i.e stroke).

The test is preformed on a bed and is divided into 4 tasks: rolling to weak side, rolling to strong side, balance in sitting position on the edge of the bed with the feet off the ground for at least 30 seconds and sit up from lying down. Each task is graded with 0 (unable to perform task without assistance), 12 (able to perform task with help of aids) and 25 (able to perform task).

The result of the test is the sum of all (4) tasks performed. The total score will range from 0 (minimum) to 100 (maximum and indicating better performance)

The motor impairment results of the Trunk Control Test are normally associated with the prognosis to walk with patients that have suffered from a neurological disorder.
